Changemaker Profile: NYS Network for Youth Success
NYS Network for Youth Success is dedicated to building a youth-serving system that increases the quality and availability of afterschool and expanded learning programs. The Network supports programs that promote young people’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development outside the traditional school day. The Network designed New York State’s school-age care credential and after-school accreditation programs, and offers a range of professional development opportunities across the state.

Coaching Circles for Program Supervisors
Coaching Circles bring individualized learning and peer coaching together. Participants learn how to coach other circle members towards deeper understanding of an issue and action planning to solve an issue. In the process, circle members get both peer support in solving a work-related situation and experiential learning in coaching techniques. Coaching techniques can be applied to supervision, youth work, and collaboration settings.
This learning module includes:
- One 4-hour in-person workshop (meets NYS SACC training requirements in area (5) business record maintenance and management; certificates provided)
- Six 3-hour coaching circles (in-person or virtually)

STEM Skills: Engineering Design in After-School and Summer Programs
This session turns fun building activities into skill-building opportunities in authentic design processes. Participants will learn the engineering design process and learn how to use design in hands-on activities with youth. This workshop will expose participants to the process of engineering through doing: we will dive in to creating together. From this experience, we will see how engineering design can enhance activities, and empower youth to begin creating for their own purposes.
This session is a 2-hour workshop. For 3 hours, the fee is $1,150, and for 5 hours, the fee is $1400. You will receive follow-up materials to support adoption of practices, and you can request further assistance after the session if needed.
